Ilim Group Presents First Russian Coated Paper Machine Construction Project to Prime Minister


On September 5, 2011 OJSC Ilim Group presented its project involving a new coated paper machine in Koryazhma to Vladimir Putin, the Prime Minister, at the Strategy for Social and Economic Development of the Northwest Interregional Conference of the United Russia party in Cherepovets. The manufacturing line, first of its kind in Russia, will be opened in 2013 at the Koryazhma Mill, Arkhangelsk Oblast. 

This new coated paper line is a part of the priority investment project of OJSC Ilim Group in the Arkhangelsk Oblast aimed at forest development with a total investment volume of RUB 14.8 billion.

The investments into the new paper line exceed RUB 8 billion. Currently, construction work in Koryazhma is underway. The new paper machine will be started up in 2012 to produce more than 150 thousand tons of cut-size and 50 thousand tons of offset paper per year. In 2013, when all necessary equipment is installed, Koryazhma Mill will produce 70.000 tons of coated paper instead of offset paper to become the first and only Russian manufacturer of this product.
